I was wandering about the web today when I came across this lovely contribution. Not exactly what I had expected but worth watching for all that.
Bernhard Wosien left us with the two dances shown here, Kujawiak and Oberek. The Kujawiak danced here is recognisably the same as what Bernhard left us, though with slightly different choreographed movements. The Oberek is not at all recognisable other than in carrying the same enthusiastic energy, but Bernhard was not working with professional dancers. There is a video recording of Oberek from one of the performances given in the Universal Hall at the Findhorn Foundation.
Bernhard left us several other national dances from Poland, the Mazurka, Krakoviak and Varsovienne but sadly they fell from the collection as time went by. I know that Rosie Turnbull tried to keep them alive but I never danced them with the group at Findhorn after my return there in 2010. Nor did I ever teach them, they required time to learn and my workshops were rarely longer than 2 days. I felt they were not suitable, nor was I familiar enough with them to make a decent job of passing them on.
I hope you can enjoy them. For myself I am suffering from arthritis which leaves me struggling to walk. I am having to let go of a lot of things. Yesterday was the anniversary of my mum passing over last year. I always felt that she was pleased to go during the Christmas season.
